Ma's Venison Stew Recipe

2 – 3 pounds
2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon

1 clove
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
2 quarts
4 cups
3 cups
1 – 15 ounce can
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
1 cup
venison round steak
ground black pepper
onion chopped
celery, sliced
garlic, minced
beef bouillon cubes
cubed potatoes
carrots, sliced
green beans, drained
cabbage, chopped
zucchini, sliced
frozen peas

Recipe Cooking Time: 75 minutes
Pan Type: large skillet for stew

Venison Stew Recipe Directions

Cut venison into bite size stew pieces.
Brown the venison stew meat in a large skillet with oil.
Drain off any excess fat.
Add the onion, celery, garlic, salt, pepper, oregano, basil, thyme and cook until tender.
Add the water and beef bouillon.
Simmer venison stew for 30 minutes.
Add the potatoes, carrots, green beans, cabbage, zucchini and peas.
Simmer venison stew for an additional 45 minutes.

Recipe Serves: 8 – 9

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
