Swiss Venison Burger Recipe

2 pounds
1/2 cup
1 clove
2 tablespoons
1/2 cup
2 tablespoons
8 slices
8
ground venison
onion, chopped fine
garlic, minced
dried parsley
red wine
soy sauce
Swiss cheese
hamburger buns

Recipe Pan Type: skillet or hot grill


Venison Burger Directions

In a large bowl combine the ground venison, chopped onion, garlic, parsley, red wine and soy sauce.
Mix venison burger mixture well.
Shape into 8 burger patties and fry or grill until no longer pink in the middle.
Top venison burger with swiss cheese and cook until the cheese melts.
Serve swiss venison burgers on buns and your favorites condiments.

Note: Venison burgers are hard to beat. Once you have them for a season, regular beef will never taste nearly as good.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
