Spicy Venison Casserole Recipe

1 clove
1/8 teaspoon
1/4  teaspoon
1 – 15 ounce
1 – 2.5 ounce can
1 cup
1 cup
1 – 4 ounce can
1 tablespoon
8 ounces
3 cups
ground venison
onion chopped
garlic, minced
cayenne pepper
salt
can tomato sauce
sliced black olives, drained
dairy sour cream
cottage cheese
green chilies, diced
dried cilantro
Mexican blend cheese, shredded
crushed tortilla chips

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Pan Type: 9" x 13" baking casserole dish

Spicy Venison Casserole Directions

Preheat Oven.

In a large skillet brown the ground venison, onions and garlic.
Drain off any excess fat.
Add the cayenne, salt, tomato sauce and drained black olives.
Cook spicy venison over medium heat uncovered for 10 minutes.
In a large mixing bowl combine the cream cheese, cottage cheese, chopped chilies and cilantro.
Mix well.
Place a small amount of venison mixture into the bottom of pan.
Break tortilla chips and place half into bottom of pan.
Cover with a layer the venison meat mixture.
Cover with the cottage cheese mixture.
Top with second half of chips and venison mixture.
Followed by shredded cheddar cheese.
Bake spicy venison casserole for the allotted time or until hot and bubbly.
Serve spicy casserole with salsa. Then to cool it down a bit, have some extra sour cream on the side.
