Calico Beans Recipe

8 ounces
2 cans
1 can
1 can
1 large
1 pound
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1 tablespoon
2 teaspoons
1 teaspoon		 bacon
pork and beans
kidney beans
lima beans
onion, chopped
venison
ketchup
brown sugar
white sugar
Wright's liquid smoke
vinegar
prepared mustard

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Pan Type: 2 quart casserole dish


Calico Beans Directions

Preheat Oven.

Fry bacon until crisp, then remove bacon and place on paper towels to drain.
Drain fat from skillet, the add the venison and onion.
Cook until meat is browned well.
Drain and put into a 2 quart casserole dish.
Crumble bacon on top of meat.
Drain all calico beans and add to the venison meat.

Add ketchup, sugars, mustard and Wright’s liquid smoke.
Mix calico beans well and bake.

Recipe Serves: 6 – 8
