Sweet and Sour Beans 2 Recipe

4 slices
1/4 cup
2 tablespoons
2 – 15 ounce cans
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
bacon, cut
finely chopped onions
flour
green beans, drained save the liquid
liquid from beans
vinegar
sweet sugar
salt
pepper

Stove Temp: medium
Recipe Pan Type: skillet


Sweet and Sour Beans Directions

Fry the bacon in hot skillet until crisp.
Remove bacon from skillet leaving the drippings behind.
Saute the onions in the bacon fat until lightly browned.
Stir in the flour, salt and pepper. Add the beans liquid, vinegar and sugar.
Stir while you bring the sweet part to a boil, mixture will thicken slightly.
Stir in the sour beans and bacon, heat through.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
