15 Bean Soup Recipe

2 cups
1
1 – 16 ounce can
1 – 4 ounce can
6 cups
1 large
1 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1 clove
15 mix dry beans
meaty ham hock
ready cut tomatoes
diced green chilies
water
onion chopped
salt
pepper
garlic, minced

Stove Temp: simmer
Recipe Cooking Time: 1 1/2 hours
Pan Type: large stock pot


15 Bean Soup Directions

Wash and sort 15 kinds of beans.
Add 2 quarts of water.
Cover and soak for 8 hours or overnight.
Drain water and rinse beans.
Return beans to pan.
Add the ham hock, un drained tomatoes, diced green chilies, water, chopped onion, salt, pepper and garlic.
Bring 15 bean soup mixture to a boil.
Cover bean soup, reduce heat and simmer for the allotted time or until tender.
