Broccoli and Cheese Soup Bowl

Broccoli cheese soup recipe, the cheese melts beautifully, giving this 30-minute broccoli and cheese soup a smooth texture and mild flavor. Broccoli and Cheese Soup is a kid-friendly way to eat more veggies—making it a winner in my book!

2 – 3 cups broccoli chopped-cooked
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup flour
2 teaspoons paprika
2 teaspoons dry mustard
1 teaspoon onion powder
1/2 teaspoon black pepper
4 cups chicken broth
2 cups milk
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
4 cups cheddar cheese, shredded (room temp)
1/2 cup bacon bits for soup garnish, if desired

Broccoli Cheese Soup Directions

Melt the butter in pan.
Add the flour and stir to make a paste.
Stir in paprika, dry mustard, onion powder and black pepper.
Add chicken broth, milk, Worcestershire sauce, broccoli and cheese.

* When adding cheese to any recipe where it needs to be incorporated in, it is always best to have the cheese room temp.

Cook broccoli cheese soup while stirring until hot. Keeping the heat on medium will help melt and blend the cheese into the soup.
Cover soup and simmer for the allotted time.
Garnish cheese soup with bacon bits if desired.
