Good Horseradish Sauce Recipe

1/4 cup
1 large
2 tablespoons
1 – 16 ounce can
1 cup
1 cup
2 cloves
2
1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 cup
butter
onion, chopped
flour
chicken broth
fresh horseradish
apple cider vinegar
garlic
bay leaves
salt
pepper
granulated sugar

Stove Temp: simmer
Recipe Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Pan Type: large skillet


Horseradish Recipe Directions

In a large skillet melt the butter and cook the onion until lightly brown.
Add the flour and chicken broth.
Add the vinegar, garlic, salt, pepper and granulated sugar. Reduce heat and simmer for the allotted time.

Recipe Note: If you are serving this recipe with beef brisket, heat the meat up in the sauce until heated thoroughly.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
