Cactus Chili Recipe

1 pound
2 cloves
1 (14.25) ounce can
1 – 15 ounce can
1 teaspoon
1/4 cup
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon
1

cactus, diced
lean ground beef
garlic, minced
ready cut tomatoes
tomato sauce
parsley
yellow cornmeal
salt
pepper
chili powder
cumin
jalapeno pepper, diced

Oven Temp: simmer
Recipe Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Pan Type: large stock pot

Cactus Chili Directions

In an 8 inch skillet brown the meat, onions, garlic, salt, pepper, and chili powder.
Drain meat and transfer to large pot.
Sprinkle meat with cornmeal and stir.
Add cumin, parsley, tomatoes, tomato sauce, diced cactus, and diced pepper.
Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer cactus chili for 30 minutes.

Serve cactus chili with cheese and your favorite crackers.
