Classic Greek Gyro Recipe

1 medium

1 small can
olive loaf
peppered loaf
pita breads
lettuce leaves
cucumber
onion
olive oil
lemon juice
black olives, sliced

Classic Greek Gyro needs to marinate for two hours or over night is even better.


Greek Gyro Directions

In a medium size bowl, thinly slice cucumbers and onions.
Mix olive oil and lemon juice in a separate bowl.
Open olives and drain.
Stir olives into olive oil mixture.
Put into refrigerator for two hours or longer if possible to marinate.
Cut gyro pita bread in half.
Fold each slice of lunch meat in half.
Put one slice of each meat into gyro pita pocket along with some lettuce leaf.
Fill with greek salad mixture and serve classic greek gyro along with your favorite soup.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
