BBQ Beef Sandwich Recipe

2 pounds
1 large
2 cups
2 cloves
1 cup
2 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
beef chuck roast
onion, chopped
garlic, minced
beef broth
Worcestershire sauce
prepared mustard
chili powder
ground black pepper

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 3 hours
Pan Type: 5 quart dutch oven

BBQ Beef Sandwich Directions

Preheat your oven.

Place beef in a pan and bake covered for two hours or until tender.
Remove beef and drain off juices.
Shred beef with a fork and return to pan.
Add onion, ketchup, garlic, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, prepared mustard, vinegar, chili powder, salt, and black pepper. Cover bbq beef and then bake for one hour.
Serve barbecue beef over toasted buns along with your favorite chips.

Recipe Note: This bbq beef sandwich can also be made in a crock pot.
Cook beef until tender 4 to 6 hours drain.
Add remaining bbq ingredients and cook beef for about two more hours on low setting.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
