Becki's BBQ Beef Recipe

2 medium
4 – 5 pound
5 cloves
1 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
2 cups
2 cups
1 large
onions, sliced
rump roast
garlic, minced
ground black pepper
barbeque (bbq) sauce
onion, chopped

Crock Pot Temp: high
Recipe Cooking Time: 4 hours
Pan Type: crock pot

BBQ Beef Directions

Slice onions and layer half in bottom of crock pot.
Lay beef meat on top of onions.
Cover beef with rest of slices of onion, garlic, salt, and pepper. Pour water over the top.
Cook beef on high for 2 hours.
Add barbeque sauce and chopped onion.
Reduce heat and cook until the bbq beef is tender.
Stir bbq beef mixture occasionally to break up the meat.
Serve barbecued beef on toasted buns.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
