Turkey Taco Burger Recipe

1 pound
1 package
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1 cup
4 slices
4 slices
lean round turkey
taco seasoning mix
dairy sour cream
chunky salsa
hamburger buns, toasted
shredded lettuce
colby jack cheese

Grill Temp:hot
Recipe Cooking Time: 19 minutes

Turkey Taco Burger Directions

In a large bowl; add ground turkey, water, and taco seasoning. Mix well and shape into 4 turkey taco burger patties.
Fry or grill turkey burgers until no longer pink, take about 6 to 9 minutes on each side.
In the meantime combine sour cream and salsa.
Mix well.
Put hamburger buns onto the grill to toast or place in a toaster oven.
When turkey burgers are done, top each burger with a piece of cheese.

To serve: spread 1 tablespoon of the sour cream mixture on bottom half of bun.
Place one tasty taco burger onto each bun.
Top with shredded lettuce and a tomato slice.
Spread 1 tablespoon sour cream on top half of each bun and place on top of turkey taco burger.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
