Greek Pasta Salad Recipe

8 ounce

4 ounces
3/4 cup
2/3 cup
1 cup
1/8 teaspoon
tricolor rotini pasta
green pepper
orange bell pepper
red bell pepper
feta cheese, crumbled
sun-dried tomatoes
black or Kalamata olives
Greek Vinaigrette salad dressing
pepper

Recipe Container Type: 4 quart bowl with lid


Greek Pasta Salad Directions

Cook the pasta according to package direction, pour into colander and rinse with cold water.
In a large bowl mix the pasta, peppers, tomatoes, cheese, olives and pepper.
Add the Greek salad dressing and stir.

Cover the greek pasta salad and refrigerate several hours or overnight before serving.

Recipe Servings: 8 – 10

Note: This greek pasta salad recipe is great for any occasion. I especially like to make it for picnics and camping trips.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup.
