Layered Crab Salad Recipe

1 small

1 1/2 cups
1 tablespoon

romaine, torn
purple onion, sliced
green pepper, sliced
petite frozen peas, thawed
mayonnaise
sugar
sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
crab meat, drained
hard boiled eggs, sliced
bacon pieces
pepper

Recipe Container Type: Large Glass Salad Serving Bowl


Crab Salad Directions

In a large salad bowl layer the torn lettuce, sliced onions, sliced green pepper, and thawed peas.
Cover all with the mayonnaise and sprinkle the top with sugar.
Sprinkle shredded cheese on the top and gently pat.
Cover and refrigerate crab salad for up to 24 hours.
When ready to serve, layer with crab meat, sliced hard boiled eggs and bacon pieces.
Sprinkle layered crab salad with black pepper.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
