Grilled Steak Supper Salad Recipe

1 teaspoon
2 cloves
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1 1/2 pounds
2 teaspoons
8 cups
3 medium
2 large
3/4 cup
1/2 cup
1 cup
garlic, minced
ground black pepper
lean sirloin steaks
lime or lemon juice
romaine lettuce, torn
green onions, sliced
cheddar cheese, shredded
ranch dressing

Grill Temp: hot
Recipe Cooking Time: 16 minutes

Grilled Steak Salad Directions

In a small bowl combine the oregano, minced garlic, salt, and pepper.
Mix well and rub into steaks on both sides.
Place seasoned steaks on hot gas grill or over hot coals. Grill steaks uncovered until medium, takes about 16 minutes.
Remove grilled steak when desired doneness is reached.
Carving grilled steaks crosswise, cut into 1/4“ strips.
In a large supper salad bowl combine the torn lettuce, sliced green onions, and tomatoes.
Layer the steak pieces on top of the salad greens.
Top supper salad with cheddar cheese.

In a small bowl mix the ranch salad dressing and salsa.
Serve steak salad with the dressing, makes for a great cool meal on a warm summers eve.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
