Dreamy Fruit Salad Recipe

1 large box
1 small box
1 large can
1 small can
2 cups
1 tablespoon
vanilla pudding
dreamy tapioca pudding
pineapple tidbits or chucks ( reserve the juice )
mandarin oranges ( reserve the juice )
juice from fruit, add water if needed
banana sliced
lemon juice from concentrate
envelope unflavored gelatin

Recipe Pan Type: 2 quart bowl

Fruit Salad Directions

Open the fruit and put into a colander. Drain the fruit over a 2 cup measuring cup to drain. If needed, add water to make 2 cups of liquid.
Set fruit aside while preparing the pudding.
Put the vanilla and dreamy tapioca pudding in a medium sauce pan.
Add the 2 cups of fruit liquid, lemon juice, and the unflavored gelatin.
Cook over medium heat stirring constantly until thickened.
Remove from stove and cool for 15 to 20 minutes.
Add fruit and stir up this good salad recipe.

Chill dreamy fruit salad about 4 hours or overnight before serving.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
