Mexican Hot Dish Recipe

2 cloves
1 – 15 ounce can
1 small can
1 cup
1 cup
1 – 4 ounce can
2 cups
1 – 10 ounce bag
lean ground beef
onion, chopped
garlic minced
tomato sauce
black olives, sliced
sour cream
cottage cheese
green chilies, chopped
cheddar cheese, grated
tortilla chips

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 30 minutes
Hot Pan Type: 9" x 13" baking dish


Hot Dish Directions

Preheat your hot oven.

Brown the meat, onions and garlic in a hot skillet and then drain.
Add tomato sauce and olives.
Set aside.
Mix together the cottage cheese, sour cream, 3 tablespoons chopped cilantro, 1 cup grated cheese and chilies.
Break up the mexican tortilla chips and put a layer in bottom of pan. Cover with a layer of the meat mixture and a layer of the cottage cheese mixture.
Repeat layers, ending with a layer of broken chips.
Cover with the remaining cup of shredded cheese.
Bake hot dish until hot and bubbly.
Serve mexican hot dish along with your favorite salad.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
