Favorite RecipeMango Salsa Recipe

2 cups
2 cups
1 large
1/4 – 1/2 cup
3 tablespoons
2 tablespoons
2 – 4 cloves
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
roma tomatoes, diced
mango, diced
red onion, chopped
cilantro, chopped
fresh lime juice
jalapeno, minced
garlic, minced
coarse salt
coarse pepper

Serve mango salsa along with your favorite chips.

Mango Salsa Directions

Place all mango salsa recipe ingredients into a small bowl and stir to mix well.
Put salsa in a covered bowl and chill for 30 minutes before serving. Mango salsa keeps well in refrigerator for 2 days.
Serve salsa with lots of tortilla chips or how about topping your favorite baked fish.
I personally like mango salsa on baked halibut.

Recipe Note: Add more salt, pepper and lime juice to taste if desired. If you would like extra heat, add more jalapeos to the mixture.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
