Barbecue Salmon Steaks Recipe

Barbecue Salmon Steaks

Marinate the salmon steaks in a mildly tangy, yet pleasantly sweet barbecue sauce. The two flavors of barbecue and mandarin orange combined, produce a sweet, rich taste. Resulting in a piece of salmon cooked over an open flame with a hint of barbecue components reminiscent of summer cookouts.

3 to 4 pounds
1/4 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1 cup
1 can
1/4 cup
salmon steaks
ground black pepper
barbecue sauce
mandarin oranges, with juice
Worcestershire sauce

Oven Temp: 350°/medium heat
Recipe Cooking Time: 35 to 40 minutes
Pan Type: baking pan or grill

Barbecue Salmon Directions

Sprinkle salmon with the salt and pepper.
In a small bowl mix together the barbecue sauce, mandarin oranges and Worcestershire sauce .
Marinate salmon in the barbecue sauce mix for 1 hour before grilling.

Place salmon steaks with skin side down on top rack of a gas grill. Spoon some of the barbecue marinate sauce over each steak. With grill at 350°, cook for 15 minutes, reduce heat to 250°, and continue to cook until the fish flakes easily when tested in center with a fork. Time will vary depending on the thickness of the salmon.

Mandarin oranges are sometimes referred to as tangerines; mandarin oranges are a delectable citrus fruit with many health benefits. They can be eaten raw, served in salads, and find their way into many dishes.
