Country Style Rib Recipe

4 pounds
1 large
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon
1 cup
1/4 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1/4 cup
1 clove
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
country style ribs
onion, chopped
light corn syrup
dark brown sugar
Worcestershire sauce
liquid smoke
mild chili powder
dry mustard
garlic, minced


Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 2 hours
Pan Type: large roasting pan

Country Style Ribs Directions

Place country style ribs in a large roasting pan, cover and place in oven.
Bake ribs for 1 hour or until close to being tender.
In the meantime combine sauce ingredients in a medium saucepan and cook over medium heat for 25 minutes.
Remove ribs from the oven and drain off all juices.
Cover with the sauce.
Return country style ribs to the oven and bake for remainder of allotted time or until fork tender.
Baste ribs every 20 minutes.
Serve country ribs with your favorite salad and potato.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
