Lemon Juice Chicken Bake Recipe

1 – 4 pound
2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
2 large
1 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon

chicken whole
olive oil
ground black pepper
lemons, juiced
granulated garlic



Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 75 minutes
Pan Type: roaster pan

Lemon Juice Chicken Directions

Preheat Oven.

Cut chicken in half.
Place chicken in pan.
Rub both sides of the chicken with salt and pepper.
Place chicken in oven for 20 minutes.
In a small bowl, combine the olive oil, juice from 2 lemons, oregano and granulated garlic.
Remove chicken from oven.
Drain off fat.
Cover chicken with the lemon juice mixture.
Return chicken to oven and bake for additional time or until juices run clear.
Baste with pan drippings twice or more while baking.
Serve up lemon juice chicken with your favorite vegetable and potato.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
