Chicken in a Bag Recipe

1 large
2 pounds
2 tablespoons
1 cup
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1 small
4 large
4 large
oven cooking bag
boneless skinless chicken thighs
flour
tomato sauce
basil
thyme
salt
pepper
garlic, crushed
onion, chopped
potatoes cut into 8’s
carrots cut into 1” pieces

 

Oven Temp: 375°
Recipe Cooking Time: 1 hour
Pan Type: cookie sheet


Chicken in a Bag Directions

Preheat Oven.

Put the flour in a bag and shake.
Place bag on heavy cookie sheet.
Arrange chicken in bottom of bag.
Put the carrots and potatoes on top of chicken.
In a small bowl, mix tomato sauce, basil, thyme, salt, pepper, garlic and onion.
Pour over chicken and vegetables.
Close bag.
Cut 4 slits in top of a bag.
Place the bag of chicken in the oven to bake.
Serve this chicken in a bag recipe with your favorite homemade bread.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
