Baked BBQ Chicken Recipe

Baked Barbecue Chicken Dinner

1     4 - 5 pound
1/8 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1 cup
3 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 cup
3 tablespoons
1 large
1 clove
whole chicken
cider vinegar
liquid smoke
brown sugar
onion, chopped
garlic minced


Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 90 minutes
Pan Type: baking dish

Baked BBQ Chicken Directions

Preheat Oven.

Cut chicken into serving size pieces and place in pan.
Bake uncovered for 30 minutes.
Combine in a small saucepan the ketchup, vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, water, brown sugar, chopped onion and minced garlic.
Cook bbq mixture over medium heat for 5 minutes.
Remove chicken from the oven and drain off all juices.
Pour sauce mixture over the chicken and return to baking oven.
Bake uncovered for 60 more minutes, baste or turn every 20 minutes.
Serve baked bbq chicken with your favorite potatoes.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
