Meat Loaf Recipe

2 large
1 cup
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
1 cup
1 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 cup
6 slices
lean ground beef
eggs
saltine cracker crumbs
onion, chopped
green bell pepper, chopped
ketchup
Worcestershire sauce
salt
ground black pepper
garlic powder
ketchup
American cheese

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 60 to 75 minutes
Pan Type: loaf pan


Meat Loaf Directions

Preheat your oven.

In a large mixing bowl combine, the ground beef, eggs, cracker crumbs, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, first amount of ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, salt, ground black pepper and garlic powder.
Mix well.
Put meat mixture into pan and shape into a loaf.
Pour remaining ketchup over the top of meat loaf.
Bake uncovered for allotted time or until a meat thermometer reaches 170° F when inserted in middle of meat loaf.
Remove meat loaf from oven.
Layer American cheese on top of hot meat loaf.
Let set 10 minutes before removing from pan.
