Broiled Cheese Potatoes Recipe

3 medium
3 tablespoons
1/4 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
1/4 cup
butter, melted
garlic, powder
onion powder
ground black pepper
Parmesan cheese, grated

Chives optional


Oven Temp: Broil
Recipe Cooking Time: 8 – 10 minutes
Pan Type: baking sheet

Cheese Potatoes Directions

Scrub potatoes, do not peel.
Cut 1/4” slices.
Lay potato slices out in a single layer on the baking sheet.

Combine in a small bowl; melted butter, garlic powder, onion powder, salt and pepper.
Stir and drizzle over top of the potatoes. Sprinkle with paprika. Place potatoes under broiler 6" from heat element.
Broil potatoes for about 8 to 10 minutes, or until nicely brown.
Turn and broil until potatoes are tender, about 6 minutes.
Transfer to serving plate and sprinkle with cheese.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
