Sweet and Sour Sausage Balls Recipe

1 pound
1/4 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
3 cups
1/4 cup
1 tablespoon
1 tablespoon
2 cups
leanest ground beef
pepper
nutmeg
poultry seasoning
tomato juice
brown sugar substitute
soy sauce
lemon juice
pineapple chunks, in natural juice

 

Pan Type: Broiler Pan / Small Saucepan


Sausage Balls Directions

Mix the ground beef, pepper, nutmeg and poultry seasoning in a bowl.
Form into 2 inch size sausage balls.
Place in a broiler pan so that the grease runs off while baking.
Place in oven and bake sausage balls for 20 minutes.
In a small saucepan add tomato juice, sweet brown sugar, soy sauce and sour lemon juice.
Bring to a boil over medium heat.
Reduce heat, simmer stirring until thickened.
Add in the sausage meat balls and pineapple.
Simmer another 20 minutes.
These meat balls can be used for an appetizer or good served over rice.
