Cedar Planked Grilled Salmon Recipe

2 tablespoons
1 tablespoon
1 1/2 tablespoons
1/2 teaspoon
cedar plank
salmon fillet
butter, melted
lemon juice
Johnny’s Garlic Spread & Seasoning
dill weed

Olive oil nonstick spray

 

Oven Temp: gas grill or hot coals
Recipe Cooking Time: 20 minutes


Grilled Salmon Directions

Soak cedar plank in cold water for 20 minutes.

Prepare hot coals or gas grill.


Wipe one side and spray the one side of cedar plank with olive oil nonstick spray.
Lay salmon fillet on sprayed side of plank.

Melt butter; add lemon juice, Johnny’s Garlic Spread and dill weed.
Mix well and brush lightly on fish before and during grilling.
Place planks on hot grill and cook until fish flakes in the middle when tested with a fork, takes about 20 minutes.

Free Recipe Note: wood will burn some and that is good, the smoke will give your grilled salmon good flavor. No need to turn the salmon over while cooking because you want it to take longer and get more smoke flavor.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
