Delicious Lime Pie Recipe

1 reduced fat
1 – 8 ounce package
1 – 14 ounce can
1/3 cup
2 teaspoons
1 – 8 ounce container
graham cracker crust
cream cheese, reduced fat
sweetened condensed milk, fat free
lime juice
lime peel, grated
lite whipped topping, thawed


Recipe Prep Time: 30 minutes
Pan Type: pie plate

Lime Pie Directions

Let cream cheese set at room temperature for 30 minutes to soften.
In a large mixing bowl beat the softened cream cheese until smooth with electric mixer.
Add sweetened condensed milk, lime juice and lime peel.
Beat until fluffy.
Fold in 2 cups of thawed whipped topping.
Pour into graham cracker crust.
Cover and refrigerate lime pie for several hours or overnight before serving.
Top with dollop of whipped topping.

Recipe Note: You can use additional grated lime peel to garnish whipped topping when serving if desired.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
