Shirley’s Quick - n - Easy Deep Dish Pizza Recipe

1 package frozen
1 jar
1 pound bulk
1 – 4 ounce package
4 cups
1/2 cup
1 can

Rhodes bread dough, thawed
Ragu pizza sauce
Italian sausage, cooked
mozzarella cheese, shredded
parmesan cheese, shredded
black olives



Oven Temp: 400°
Recipe Cooking Time: 25 to 30 minutes
Pan Type: baking pan

Deep Dish Pizza Directions

Preheat Oven.

Thaw bread dough and roll out to fit your deep dish baking pan.
In a large skillet cook your Italian sausage or meat of your choice until no longer pink in the middle and drain.
Put a layer of sauce over the dough.
Top pizza with 1/2 of the meat, 2 cups of the shredded mozzarella cheese and 1/4 cup of the parmesan cheese, 1/2 can of black olives.
Repeat layers.
Bake deep dish pizza for the allotted time.
Let pizza set 15 minutes before serving with your favorite drink.

Recipe Serves: 12 to 15

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
