Scalloped Ham and Potato Recipe

4 large
2 cups
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
2 cups
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
2 teaspoons
1/2 teaspoon
2 1/2 cups
potatoes
lean ham, diced
flour
butter
cheddar cheese, shredded
onion, chopped
parsley, minced
salt
ground black pepper
half and half
Paprika
Nonstick pan spray

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 2 hours
Pan Type: baking pan


Scalloped Ham and Potato Directions

Preheat Oven. Spray pan with nonstick spray.

Wash peel and slice potatoes 1/8” thick.
Put 1/2 of the potatoes and ham in bottom of the pan.
Sprinkle with 2 tablespoons flour.
Dot with 1/2 of the butter.
Top with 1/2 of the cheese, chopped onion, minced parsley, salt and pepper.
Repeat layer ending with cheese.
Bake scalloped ham and potatoes for the allotted time or until potatoes are tender and sauce is thickened.
Serve with your favorite side dish and drink.

Note: Do not let the bake time keep you from making this casserole, it is well worth the wait.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
