Seasoned Chicken and Rice Recipe

1/8 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1 cup
1 small
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 cup
3 cups
chicken
butter
flour
pepper
paprika
salt
sage
marjoram
long grain rice, raw
onion, chopped
pepper
green pepper, chopped
chicken broth

Oven Temp: 400°
Recipe Cooking Time: 70 minutes
Pan Type: baking dish


Chicken and Rice Directions

Preheat Oven.

Cut chicken into serving size pieces.
Put the butter in pan and stick in the oven to melt.
In a small shallow dish combine the flour, pepper, paprika, salt, sage and marjoram.
Mix well.
Dredge chicken in the flour mixture.
Bake chicken for 25 minutes.
Combine the rice, chopped onion, pepper, chopped green pepper and the chicken broth.
Remove chicken from oven unto a plate.
Drain all juices from the pan.
Pour rice mixture into the pan and put the chicken on top.
Cover the chicken and rice, bake for the remaining 45 minutes.

Recipe Serves: 4 – 6

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt.
