Gourmet Chicken And Peppers Recipe

1/4 cup

2 cloves
1/4 teaspoon
1/8 teaspoon
6 ounces
red bell pepper
yellow bell peppers
green bell peppers
chicken breasts, halves
olive oil
onion, sliced
mushrooms, sliced
garlic, chopped
Monterey Jack cheese, shredded
hot cooked rice

Oven Temp: medium low
Recipe Cooking Time: 35 to 45 minutes
Pan Type: skillet

Chicken And Peppers Directions

Wash and seed the peppers.
Cut into ½ inch strips.
Cut chicken into 1/2 inch strips.
Heat the oil in skillet.
Add the chicken and cook for 15 minutes turning occasionally. Add the peppers strips, sliced onions, sliced mushrooms and chopped garlic.
Cover and cook over medium heat until chicken and vegetables are tender stirring occasionally.
Cook rice according to package directions.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper, stir and serve over rice.
Top with shredded cheese and serve with your favorite bread and drink.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
