Beef Stroganoff Recipe

1 pound
1 large
1 clove
1 can
2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
1 – 6.5 ounce can
1 cup
lean ground beef
onion, chopped
garlic, minced
cream of mushroom soup
ground black pepper
mushrooms, sliced
dairy sour cream
cooked noodles

Stove Temp: low
Recipe Cooking Time: 20 minutes
Pan Type: skillet

Beef Stroganoff Directions

Brown the ground beef, onions and garlic until meat is no longer pink in the middle.
Drain well.
Add the flour, salt and ground black pepper stir well.
Add the soup and mushrooms.
Bring mixture to a boil stirring often.
Reduce heat, simmer stroganoff uncovered for 15 minutes.
Stir in the sour cream and cook for additional 5 minutes until heated thru.
Serve beef stroganoff over noodles and enjoy with your favorite warm bread and drink.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
