Crockpot Chicken Tacos Recipe

Four chicken skinless and boneless chicken breasts placed in the crockpot in the morning and placed on low. One fantastic tasting meal for dinner. This will become one of the family favorites, so easy anyone can fix dinner tonight.

Crockpot Chicken Tacos with Avacado

4 skinless, boneless chicken breast
18 ounces of salsa
1 cup grated cheddar cheese, (I used Havarti)
1 cup lettuce, chopped
1 cup sour cream
1 pkg Taco seasoning
1/2 teaspoon Salt
8 Flour Tortillas for Soft Shell Tacos

Recipe Cooking Temp:Low Heat
Recipe Cooking Time:
Pan Type: Crockpot

Crockpot Chicken Taco Directions

Place the four boneless, skinless chicken breasts in the crockpot. Pour the salsa over the top of the chicken, add in the taco seasoning, stir to mix and cook for six hours on low or turn up the heat to high and cook for four hours.
When ready to serve, chop the lettuce and grate the cheese. Can be served with quacamole or other favorite fixings.
Shred chicken and serve. Chicken should shred easily with a couple of forks.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
