Favorite RecipeBlack-Eyed Peas Recipe

1 pound
1
6 cups
1/4 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
black-eyed peas
meaty ham hock
water
pepper
salt

Recipe Cooking Time: 90 minutes
Pan Type: large saucepan


Black-eyed Peas Directions

Wash and sort black-eyed peas.

Cover with twice as much water as there are peas.
Cover and let black-eyed peas set overnight.
Next day pour off water.
Place peas in a pan along with the ham hock.
Add the water, pepper and salt. Bring mixture to a boil.
Cover reduce heat and simmer for the allotted time or until peas and meat are tender.
Remove the ham hocks.
Cut the meat off the bone and return to the pot of black-eyed peas.

Recipe Serves: 6 – 8

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier.
