Roasted Prime Rib Recipe

6 – 8 pound
5 pounds
1 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
Prime Rib Roast, bone-in
rock salt
garlic, minced
salt
coarse ground black pepper

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 25 to 30 minutes
Pan Type: roasting pan


Roasted Prime Rib Directions

Preheat Oven.

Open the rock salt and lay in bottom of pan.
Place meat rib side down on the rock salt.
(The ribs take the place of roasting rack).
Rub the minced garlic on the meat.
Sprinkle with salt and pepper.
Place a meat thermometer in the middle.
Bake in hot oven for the allotted time or until meat thermometer reaches 130°.

Remove from the oven, cover and let set for 20 to 30 minutes or until temperatures reaches desired doneness per note below.
Discard the salt. Crack any salt off of roast before you slice it.
Using a sharp carving knife, slice meat across the grain for serving.

Note: The best way to pick a great prime rib in my opinion, is go to the meat counter and tell the butcher how big a roast you want. You should plan on 1 pound with bone-in per person.
Tell the butcher not to cut the bone and tie it on, you want your prime rib roast with the bone in tact.
Then my friend you will have a melt in your mouth prime rib.
Take meat out when meat thermometer inserted in the middle reaches 130° for rare, 140° for medium and 150° for well done.
Then cut the ends for the folks who like their prime rib well done.
This way everyone will have their meat cooked the way they like it.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier.
