Roast Turkey and Dressing Recipe

1    14 to 16 pound
1/2 teaspoon
2 teaspoons
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon

Dressing:
1 large
2
1 cup
12 cups
1 tablespoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoons
1 – 1 1/2 cups
turkey
onion powder
salt
pepper
poultry seasoning
rubbed sage


onion, chopped
celery ribs, sliced thin
butter, melted
bread cubes (day old)
rubbed sage
salt
pepper
chicken broth

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 3 to 4 hours
Pan Type: roasting pan


Roast Turkey and Dressing Directions

Preheat Oven.

Pat turkey dry with clean cloth.
Put breast side up in roasting pan.
In a small bowl mix onion powder, first amounts of salt, pepper, sage and poultry seasoning.
Rub on turkey.
In a large bowl combine bread cubes with spices.
Fluff with fork to mix. Add onion and celery and mix.
Add melted butter and fluff with fork.
Add enough broth to moistened bread and gently toss.
Stuff the turkey loosely.
Tie ends together to hold dressing in.
Bake uncovered until meat thermometer registers 180° in thickest part of breast.
Remove turkey from oven and cover.
Let stand for 15 to 20 minutes for easier carving and before removing dressing.

Recipe Serves: 10 to 12
