Favorite RecipePumpkin Pie Recipe

2 – 10"
4 large
1 – 29 ounce can
1 teaspoon
4 teaspoons
24 ounces
unbaked pie shells
solid pumpkin
pumpkin pie spice
evaporated milk

Oven Temp: 375°
Recipe Cooking Time: 75 to 80 minutes
Pan Type: two 10" pie shells

Pumpkin Pie Recipe Directions

Preheat Oven.

Place eggs in a large mixing bowl and beat until fluffy.
Add the canned pumpkin, salt, pumpkin pie spice and mix until well blended.
Add the milk and beat on low speed of mixer for 1 minute.
Pour pumpkin pie mixture into two unbaked pie shells.
Place pies into the preheated oven and bake for the allotted time or until pies set up.
Cool pumpkin pies on a wire rack completely before serving.
Great with your favorite whipped cream and sprinkled with cinnamon.

Recipe Note: If the edges of crust brown too quickly simply lay a piece of foil loosely on the top of pumpkin pie. You are going to love this good pumpkin pie.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
