Favorite RecipeOrange Sandwich Cookies Recipe

1/4 teaspoon
1/3 cup

Filling:
1/2 cup
2 cups
1 tablespoon
2 tablespoons

Topping:
1/2 cup
2 tablespoons
1 teaspoon
butter, softened
powdered sugar
all purpose flour
salt
milk

Grand Marnier, Liqueur
orange juice


semi-sweet chocolate chips
butter, softened
Grand Marnier, Liqueur


Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 10 to 12 minutes
Pan Type: cookie sheet


Orange Sandwich Cookies Directions

Preheat Oven.

In a large mixing bowl beat the butter until fluffy. Add the sugar and beat well. Add the flour, salt and milk alternately. Beat until well blended.
Cover and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
Roll dough into 1" balls and place on ungreased cookie sheet 2 inches apart. Use a sugared glass to flatten cookies.
Bake in hot oven for the allotted time or until firm.
Transfer to wire rack to cool.

Continue to bake until all dough is used up.

In the meantime prepare the filling.
In a large mixing bowl beat the butter until fluffy. Add the powdered sugar, Grand Marnier Liqueur and orange juice. Beat until smooth.
Spread filling on bottom half of cookie.
Top with second cookie.

In a small saucepan melt the chocolate and butter until smooth. Stir in the Liqueur. Spoon about 1 teaspoon on top of each. Place on waxed paper to dry.

Serves: 24

Note: Not to difficult to make orange sandwich cookies and they store nicely, providing you can keep people out of them. You can substitute orange juice for the orange liqueur.
