Yummy Mocha Pie Recipe

1 – 9”
2 cups
1 rounded teaspoon
3/4 cup
1/3 cup
1/8 teaspoon
1 ounce
2 large
2 tablespoon
1 1/2 teaspoon
baked pie shell
milk, scalded
instant espresso coffee
sugar
flour
salt
unsweetened chocolate (1 square)
egg yolks, beaten
butter
vanilla

Recipe Pan Type: 9" pie plate


Yummy Mocha Pie Directions

Put 2 cups milk in saucepan, scald.
Add chocolate and espresso granules.
Cook over medium low heat stirring constantly until chocolate melts.
In a medium bowl, combine sugar, flour and salt, mix together paying careful attention to remove any lumps from flour.
Add sugar and flour to chocolate mixture.
Use a wire whisk to stir until thickened.
Beat egg yolks in small bowl.
Add a small amount of chocolate mixture to egg yolks and stir. Now add egg yolks to pan and use whisk to stir into chocolate mixture.
Cook over medium heat until mixture is thickened, remove from heat.
Add vanilla and butter and stir.
Pour into baked pie shell.
Cool for 1 hour on counter.
Then refrigerate several hours before serving.
Top with thawed whipped topping and serve with your favorite tea or coffee.

Note: You like homemade pie crust, but do not always have the time.
Then make this fool proof pie crust and you will have the crust ready to roll out.
The crust will keep in the refrigerator for one week.
