Dutch Apple Pie Recipe

1/4 teaspoon
1/2 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
3/4 cup

1 tablespoon
1/2 cup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/4 cup
1/3 cup
3 tablespoons
graham cracker pie crust
egg yolk, slightly beaten
salt
ground cinnamon
ground nutmeg
all-purpose flour
peeled, sliced cooking apples
lemon juice
sugar
light brown sugar, packed
sugar
light brown sugar, packed
butter, at room temperature
all purpose flour

Oven Temp: 375º
Recipe Cooking Time: 50 minutes
Pan Type: 9" pie plate


Dutch Apple Pie Directions

Preheat oven.

Brush bottom and sides of crust evenly with egg yolk.
Bake on baking sheet about five minutes, until brown.
Remove crust from oven.
Combine sliced apples, lemon juice, sugar, brown sugar, flour, salt, cinnamon and nutmeg, mix well, then spoon into crust. Combine the remaining ingredients for the topping.
Mix with a fork until crumbly, then sprinkle over top of filling.
Bake pie on a baking sheet for allotted time or until topping is golden and pie is bubbling.
Cool apple pie thoroughly, at least 4 hours before serving.
Serve dutch apple pie with your favorite ice cream.
