Cranberry Apple Pie Recipe

1 16oz. can
5 medium
1 cup
1 teaspoon
cranberry sauce
apples, diced
granulated sugar
double pie crusts

Oven Temp: 375°
Recipe Cooking Time: 45 minutes
Pan Type: 9" pie plate

Cranberry Apple Pie Directions

Preheat your oven.

Peel and slice apples into bit size pieces.

In a large mixing bowl combine the cranberry sauce, apples, sugar and cinnamon together.
Arrange a bottom crust into the pie plate.
Spoon the apple mixture onto the crust.
Arrange a top crust on top of the apple cranberry pie.
Brush beaten egg yolk onto the top pie crust and sprinkle with a teaspoon of sugar.
Cut several slits into the crust so the steam can escape.
Bake the cranberry apple pie for allotted time.
If the crust browns too quickly, then cover loosely with a piece of tin foil.
Cool pie on a wire rack.
Cranberry apple pie is great served plain or with a scoop of your favorite ice cream.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat.
