Cherry Cheese Pie Recipe

1 – 8 ounce package
1/2  cup
1 teaspoon
1 cup
1/4 cup
1 can
cream cheese, softened
powdered sugar
heavy whipping cream
powdered sugar
pie shell, baked, cooled
cherry pie filling

Pie Chill Time: 5 hours
Recipe Pan Type: pie plate

Cherry Cheese Pie Directions

In a large mixing bowl beat the cream cheese until softened.
Add 1/2 cup powdered sugar and vanilla, then beat until fluffy.
In a large mixing bowl (Chill bowl and beaters in the freezer 5 minutes before beating whipping cream), beat the whipping cream continuously until whipped.
Add 1/4 cup of powdered sugar and beat for 30 seconds. Fold whipped cream into cheese mixture.
Spread into already cooled baked pie shell, top with cherry pie filling. If desired, top with additional whipped cream when serving. Chill your cherry cheese pie for 30 minutes or more before serving. Chill for 5 hours or more for best results.
Serve cherry cheese along with your favorite coffee or tea.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
