Fruit Burrito Recipe

1 can
1 package
1/4 cup
2 teaspoons
pie filling of choice
flour tortillas, soft taco size
sugar
cinnamon
oil for frying

Stove Temp: medium
Recipe Cooking Time: 5 minutes each side
Pan Type: skillet


Fruit Burrito Directions

Put two tablespoons of pie filling in center of flour tortilla.
Fold ends over and wrap.
Repeat this procedure until all tortillas are filled.
In a small bowl mix the sugar and cinnamon.
Heat oil.
Steam tortillas, they fold nicer and do not tear.
Fry fruit burritos until they are light golden brown, turn and cook other side, add more oil if necessary.
Drain burritos on paper towels.
Roll in cinnamon sugar.

Note: This is a favorite thing to make over a camp fire when camping.

Substitute, substitute, substitute. Recipes were made to be messed with. Use alternative ingredients to make your recipes healthier. Cook with broth (low-sodium vegetable, low-fat chicken or beef) instead of with oils. Use vinaigrettes or citrus-juice-based dressings instead of creamy ones, which are often full of saturated fat. Try olive oil, skim milk, or yogurt instead of butter or cream. Re-work dessert recipes that require heavy cream with evaporated skim milk or yogurt. For cakes and other desserts, substitute fresh-fruit puree as a topping instead of frosting. And one of my favorites: pancakes with applesauce, not maple syrup. These changes will give your favorite recipes great new flavor, and your food will be healthier!
