Layered Nick Bars Recipe

1 1/4 cups
4 tablespoons
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
1 cup
1/4 cup
1 – 7 ounce jar
1 teaspoon
1 1/4 cups
1 – 11.5 ounce bag
4 tablespoons
chocolate chips
butter
butterscotch chips
creamy peanut butter
granulated sugar
evaporated milk
marshmallow cream
vanilla
dry roasted peanuts, chopped
caramels
evaporated milk
nonstick pan spray

Recipe Pan Type: baking pan


Layered Nick Bars Directions

Spray pan and set aside.

First Layer
In a medium size saucepan over low heat melt 1 cup of the chocolate chips, butterscotch chips and 1/4 cup of the peanut butter.
Spread into bottom of pan and place in the freezer to cool.

Second Layer
In a saucepan combine 1/4 cup evaporated milk, sugar and butter.
Bring to a boil over medium heat and boil stirring constantly 5 minutes.
Add the remaining 1/4 cup peanut butter, marshmallow cream, vanilla and peanuts and stir well.
Spread over first layer in pan and place back in the freezer.

Third Layer
Place caramels in a saucepan with 4 tablespoons evaporated milk.
Melt together over medium heat until smooth.
Stir continuously so mixture does not scorch.
Spread this mixture over the second layer.

Final Layer
Sprinkle with the remaining 1/4 cup of chocolate chips.
Cool completely before cutting and serving with your favorite drink.

Recipe Makes: about 24 bars
