Almond Chocolate Bars Recipe

1 – 8 ounce package
3/4 cup
3/4 cup
1 – 1/2 teaspoons
2 cups
1/2 teaspoon
1 cup
1/3 cup		 cream cheese, softened
butter or margarine, softened
granulated sugar
vanilla
all purpose flour
baking powder
semisweet chocolate chips

Craisins
sliced almonds, toasted

Oven Temp: 375º
Recipe Cooking Time: 12 to 15 minutes
Pan Type: baking pan


Almond Chocolate Bars Directions

Preheat your oven.

Combine cream cheese and butter in mixing bowl, beat well. Gradually add sugar and vanilla, beating until light and fluffy. Combine flour and baking powder, add to batter, beating well. Spread mixture evenly in pan.
Bake for the allotted time.
Sprinkle chocolate chips immediately over baked layer.
Let stand 5 minutes, or until chocolate melts.
Spread chocolate evenly to the edges of pan.
Sprinkle with almonds.
Cool and cut into bars. Serve almond chocolate bars along with your favorite drink.

Recipe Makes: about 10 chocolate bars
