Apricot Bar Recipe

1 cup
1 cup
1 large
1 teaspoon
1 3/4 cups
1/8 teaspoon
1 cup
1/2 cup		 brown sugar
shortening
egg
vanilla
all purpose flour
salt
walnuts, chopped
apricot jam

nonstick pan spray

Oven Temp: 325°
Recipe Cooking Time: 50 minutes
Pan Type: 9" square pan


Apricot Bar Directions

Preheat your oven. Spray pan with nonstick pan spray.

In a large mixing bowl cream together the brown sugar and shortening until fluffy.
Add the egg, vanilla, flour, salt and nuts and mix well.

Spoon 1/2 of the bar dough into bottom of prepared pan and spread out evenly.
Top with the apricot jam and spread out evenly.
Top with remainder of dough.
Spread out evenly and seal edges.
Bake apricot bar for the allotted time and cool completely before cutting.

Recipe Serves: 9 – 12
