Italian Sausage Gravy Recipe

12 ounces
1/3 cup
3 cups
3/4 teaspoon
1/4 teaspoon
Italian sausage
flour
milk
salt
pepper

Sausage Pan Type: large skillet


Italian Sausage Gravy Directions

In a large skillet break apart the Italian sausage and lightly brown. You will need 4 tablespoons of the sausage drippings, discard anything above that.

Add the flour, salt and pepper to the skillet, stirring to make a gravy paste.
Cook until sausage gravy mixture starts to turn brown in color.
Slowly add the milk, stirring constantly over medium heat until gravy mixture thickens.
Continue to cook sausage gravy over medium heat for 2 minutes.
Serve Italian sausage gravy over biscuits or potatoes.
