Quick Rise Rolls Recipe

1 cup
2 packages
1/2 cup
1/2 cup
1 cup
1 1/2 teaspoons
1 large
6 cups
warm water
dry active yeast
granulated sugar
boiling water
egg, beaten
all purpose flour

Oven Temp: 350°
Recipe Cooking Time: 20 – 25 minutes
Pan Type: sheet pan

Rolls Directions

Preheat Oven.

In a small bowl combine the warm water (120°), yeast and granulated sugar. Stir and set aside. In a large mixing bowl combine the boiling water, shortening and salt. Mix well, add the egg and beat well. Add the yeast mixture and stir well. Add the flour and knead until dough is smooth and easy to handle. Oil a bowl and turn dough into bowl and turn it over once so the top gets oiled. Cover and let rise in a warm place for 1 hour. Punch dough down. Shape into rolls. Spray pan with nonstick pan spray. Place quick rise rolls onto the prepared pan. Cover quick rise dough and let rise in warm place for 1 hour. Bake quick rise rolls in a hot oven for 15 – 20 quick minutes or until lightly browned on bottom.
